Responsible Approach
The BCA takes a proactive approach to responsible gambling. All member organisations are required to observe our Code of Best Practice on Gaming and Social Responsibility, which we developed in partnership with the charity GamCare. In addition, members have to operate within Guidelines and any conditions agreed with the regulator, the Gambling Commission.
The BCA played a leading role in the formation of the Responsibility in Gambling Trust in 2002. Funded by voluntary contributions from the industry, every BCA member is required to make a proportionate and meaningful annual contribution to support the Trust’s work. Led by an independent Steering Group, the Trust’s programme includes public education, research and support to ensure the promotion of responsible gambling.
