1. How do I set up a new casino?

In order to set up a casino, you must first obtain a certificate of consent from the Gambling Commission (the government regulator for the industry) to show that you are a fit and proper person to operate a casino.

2. Who can join the BCA?

BCA Membership is open only to those who operate land-based casinos in Great Britain.

3. Why should I join the BCA?

Over 90% of British casinos are members of the BCA.
Since its formation in 1973, the BCA has worked hard for the benefit of its members, successfully negotiating with various government departments as well as the industry's regulatory body (the Gambling Commission), and dealing with the media.
The benefits of membership include:

A central point for all media and other enquiries
A central point for members to air views and issues

4. How much does it cost to join the BCA?

Subscriptions for membership are reviewed each year. If you already operate a casino or have received certification from the Gambling Commission to open a casino, please email us at with your full details and we will be happy to contact you with the relevant information.

13. Can I use my credit card in a casino?

Credit cards can be used to purchase food and drinks in a casino but by law they cannot be used to purchase gaming chips. You may however use a debit card subject to certain limits.

You must be eighteen (18) years of age or older in order to legally enter a casino in Great Britain.
