Penelope, Viscountess Cobham
Lady Cobham was appointed Chairman of the British Casino Association in December 1999 and was reappointed for a further two year term, with effect from 1st April, 2007. She was the founding chairman of the Responsibility in Gambling Trust (RIGT), and continues now as a trustee.
Penny Cobham was appointed Deputy Chairman of VisitBritain in March 2005 having been a Board member since 2003. She is the longest serving member of the Finance and Policy Committee of the Historic Houses Association (1985), having been instrumental in restoring and opening 18th century Hagley Hall between 1977 and 1994. Penny Cobham has worked as a special advisor on heritage and tourism in the Culture Department and has served on the boards of English Heritage, British Waterways, Historic Royal Palaces, the V & A among other public bodies.
She is currently the chairman of the trustees of the largest UK arts prize, the Art Fund Prize for museums and galleries and serves on the Council of the National Trust.
Lady Cobham is a business consultant to accountants Ernst & Young and advises GI Partners, a leading investor in leisure businesses.
